As the year progresses and the individual
college presses throw open their doors, there will be many activities, both
social and educational, for Yale's printing community. For the moment, here are
a few currently planned events:
Printing For Pleasure: the Art of Printing
On
Wednesday, September 19th, from 7-8 pm, Greer Allen, Yale University Printer
Emeritus, will be kicking off the printing year with a show-and-tell in Branford
College. His presentation will be preceded by a reception inaugurating the
newly-restored Branford Press, and will be followed by individual hands-on
printing demonstrations in the Branford, Pierson, Jonathan Edwards and Davenport
Presses.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see what all
the excitement is about, hear from a very entertaining speaker, and get
first-hand experience in one of the college presses. Please join us!
Weekly HCCP Printers' Table
Every
Sunday evening, printers from all of the college presses join up for dinner in
one of the residential colleges to talk shop, coordinate activities and show off
their latest projects. Drop a note to Andi
Young, the HCCP Master of the Chappel, to find out where this week's dinner
will be held.
